Kick-off Web Link?

Does anyone know where the Kick-off web event will be hosted? Has it been announced if Comcast is hosting again? Team 4926 views the kick-off video from GTHQ (GalacTech Headquarters), so we won't be going to a kick-off event.

The official comcast link was not published until Jan 4 last year. Kickoff is only two days earlier, so I would expect it to be January 2nd or 3rd this year.

I can't help but notice this one the page:

Please Note: We will be testing this Broadcast periodically before Kickoff. There are no game hints in this broadcast. This is intended to be a test platform for Local Kickoff Coordinators in preparation for Kickoff on January 7, 2017.

That means there are DEFINITELY game hints there.

Clickthrough the video embed (click on 'FIRSTinspires'), and it will lead you right to https://www.twitch.tv/firstinspires - that is the stream link to share/load up.

If you hit 'follow' you can sign up for email notifications when it goes live.

It says the "pre-show" starts at 10am EST, the kickoff starts at 10:30am EST. Does this mean actual game content starts at 10:30, or at 11?

Folks looking to stream the kickoff at school. Make sure you test it ahead of time. We don't work in the school, but host a local Kickoff at the school auditorium and twitch.tv is a blocked website by the district. Fortunately the district's IT person is a former FRC team member and is going to unblock it for kickoff day. But the process to get it the approval to unblock, for a 24 hour period only, took a couple weeks.

Not sure if The Blue Alliance feed will work as I haven't tried.

+1 on this. There's nothing more frustrating than having a large group together for kickoff and not being able to watch it.

Regarding timing, the kickoff show starts at 10:30 EST. Based on previous years, here's what you can expect. It begins with a general welcome from FIRST leaders, welcome videos from sponsors, and then moves on to the game reveal. This is the point when the password for the encrypted game manual is shown. IIRC this was just before 11AM EST last year. The show wrapped with a series of detailed field walkthroughs. They're worth watching.

Pro tip: have your smartphone out and ready when the password is revealed.
