Game Manual- Still "coming soon"

I noticed the encrypted Game Manual is still "coming soon". I wouldn't mind if First used an AWS system to share the file on kickoff so there would not be a bottle neck but as you know on kick off the file wont immediately accessible until an hour or so later.

Perhaps they are still making changes?

Last year it wasn't uploaded until Jan 7, 2 days before kickoff. Be patient

The FIRST Tech Challenge game manual (the actual PDFs of parts 1 and 2) is hosted on a Microsoft cloud server. I can't imagine FIRST wouldn't do the same for FRC when the time comes.

Last year's manual is hosted on a cloud server as well.

For the past couple years, FIRST has hosted the game manual, field drawings, etc. in the Microsoft Azure cloud. (note that the download url's on the FIRST site point to the blob.core.windows.net domain). In the past few years, I haven't had any issues downloading the un-encrypted version of the manual within a few minutes of the kickoff stream ending.

In more recent history, FIRST usually publishes the encrypted versions for teams who don't have access to the internet at their kickoff location. It's usually not released until a few days before kickoff, once they have finished making tweaks to the manual in preparation for its release.

Re: Game Manual- Still "coming soon"

If you're curious, this page shows the scalability targets for Azure storage. Each blob is guaranteed 60 MBps of throughput and 500 requests/second, subject to the 20Gbps overall account limit. It's often possible to go past the 60 MBps limit, but not guaranteed.

For scale beyond 60 MBps per document, you'd want to deliver the content via Azure CDN.
