1.9" Omni Wheels

I'm wondering if anyone has seen/used these 1.9" diam. omni wheels from McMaster. They come with a 5/16" bore, but it looks like they can be broached to 3/8" hex bore for live-axle use. I'm not 100% what they would be used for (possibly as an intake for small objects or as tiny casters), but if someone has had a good experience with them they might be something to keep in mind.

P.S. they also come in 2", 2 11/32", and 3 5/32" versions

There are several Durometers available each with their own strength ratings. The 1/2inch keyed shaft variety are easy to broach to 1/2inch hex and the wheels are durable. The 12mm bore variety are also easy to broach after being enlarged to 12.7mm.

They are designed for industrial conveyors and as a result are durable. We used them on an intake we built in the Offseason and they worked well.

The strongest variety is capable of holding up to 40kg so could be so usable for drop down wheels in Drivetrains etc( I believe that these are the wheels 118 used in 2014).

If you want something even smaller you could try these which are 35mm: http://www.rotacaster.com.au/shop-pr...ore-no-bushing I don't have experience with the 35mm type but they look like it would be possible to broach them out to 3/8 hex.

I've recently used mcmaster #2289T41 for a personal project. It's the 1/4" bore version, but the difference is a small plastic bushing that reduces the bore from 5/16" to 1/4". Here's a picture. There are three pieces: two wheel halves and a center hub piece. There's a significant amount of material on this hub. Definitely enough to open the bore to 3/8 and broach. I'll have to verify, but you should also have enough meat on the hub to broach to 1/2" hex. (edit: the OD of the hub is 0.7". definitely enough room to broach 1/2" hex)

The rollers themselves are made of a hard acetal, so don't expect any significant amount of grip from these wheels.
