Alabama Kickoff Event Cancelled

FRC Kickoff Volunteers

Just completed a conference call with the US Space & Rocket Center and Dana Hobbs of FIRST.

For the safety of the students, mentor and Space center staff it has been decided to cancel the viewing of the kickoff broadcast at the Space & Rocket Center Saturday morning.

So don’t show up at the Space & Rocket Center early Saturday morning!

Kit of Parts Distribution

Depends on when the Space & Rocket Center opens for visitors.

Snow is predicted into the early hours of Saturday. The Rocket Center will need time to clear parking lots and sidewalks before allowing visitors.

Plan A- Saturday January 7th: The Space & Rocket Center will delay opening Saturday at 12:00 noon for visitors. We will be at the Davidson Center from noon to 3pm handing out kits.

Plan B – Sunday January 8th: The Space & Rocket Center does not open until Sunday. We will be at the Davidson Center Sunday from noon to 3pm handing out kits.

If the Space Center opens up Saturday, we will be handing out the Kit of Parts at noon.

I will not need but just a few people to help (or to keep me company).

Reply back if you would like help out or text me with your name to (256) 684-7578 and I will text out a confirmation regarding Saturday’s kit of parts distribution.

I do not live in Alabama but I'm curious. Was this weather related? I know y'all had a tornado a few days ago.

A winter storm is headed for the South. That's what all the cancellations are for.
