2141 Belt WCD Concept

Here is a link to the chassis that we have designed for this season. It includes six cantilevered 4 inch wheels driven by 15mm belts. Sorry for the late-ish upload .

We were wondering, is it reasonable to have bearings for the drive wheels pressed in to .1" wall Versaframe with no additional support?

I don't have a ton of experience with this, but I can speak from the experience I have. What I have found is that as long as your bearing is well constrained axially and radially (i.e. squeezed along the shaft and the bearing hole isn't oversized), you should be fine. Either axial or radial play will give you problems with bearing misalignment and possibly even bearings coming loose.
