Condolances to event load-in, match reset and event teardown

Wow, look at the size of the stuff that has to be moved this year!! This has got to be one of the most complicated fields I've ever seen.

I was impressed that it says that all of the fuel may not be counted as the airship gets to liftoff, so teams need to be aware of how long it will take to get the balls down into the counting system. I'm sure that will generate complaints.

Looks like the game will be interesting to watch and play, but my heart goes out to all of you behind the scenes that make this work!

Field reset crew are lucky, don't have to move any heavy stuff like last year.

Scores will be pretty high this year.

Re: Condolances to event load-in, match reset and event teardown

I had a VC find me in the hall today at our Kickoff and ask me if I could help with setup at their event... Probably a good thing she asked before the broadcast and not after

Seriously though, this is going to be a crazy field to set up and tear down, especially with all of the electronics. Be nice to your field volunteers! Reset is going to be the easy part.

Re: Condolances to event load-in, match reset and event teardown

A quick solution could be something like this for wiffle balls with a weight counter scale (like they do in industry for mass amounts of products).

Think of it as a zamboni for FRC, though with all of the drive teams removing robots after every match that may get difficult.

But I do think the best way to go about counting the balls will be using a counting scale, like this.

Re: Condolances to event load-in, match reset and event teardown

The scale is a great idea, I was thinking along the same line for our events.

I used to sell a similar solution for counting cash: http://a.co/826ZpT5

You would not really need the counting version just know what the exact weight needs to be and have a scale that can tare off the bin, or use the same weight bin every time.

Re: Condolances to event load-in, match reset and event teardown

Very true, as long as you know what each bin should be at, you don't necessarily need to weigh each one, so a simple kitchen scale should even work.
