The LAUNCHPAD is just under 1/3rd of the entire field, including the entire alliance wall. This isn't a constraint at all.

Take another look at the labeled field areas...you will see that the Launchpad is bordered by the wall and thus your robot would indeed still be within the Launchpad, while touching the wall as required.

You might want to look at the drawings rather than the animation. The plexi only blocks a couple of inches of the goal.
