Go to Post It is sad when the robots do not perform as we designed them. It is sadder still, when they perform well, but they are not victorious. However, it is most saddening when they win at a competition, and competitors are unwilling to acknowledge the teamwork and good fortune of the alliance. - Bill Moore [more]

Spectrum Build Blog + CAD Release + check_in

Spectrum is sharing even more of their season this year.

Build Blog
We are continuing our build blog this season and expanding it as well.
Blog.Spectrum3847.org

This season we will continue our nightly updates but we will also have an expanded post after each Tuesday meeting that is being posted to TheBlueAlliance Blog as well. The first update was just posted here.

Open CAD Models
This year we are making all of our CAD completely available every Tuesday night (probably Wednesday morning). We will be updating our Grabcad Public Partner Spaces with the previous weeks CAD files. Feel free to use them however you wish. We make no guarantees about completeness or how much help they may be but we think it may interest some teams. If you don’t see any updates contact us and we will update, we may have just forgot to push to the partner space.

You can find CAD links on the 2017 Gamma Ray page of our website.

check_in
We are also part of check_in every Tuesday night on the RoboSportsNetwork. The first episode is now live on youtube (part 1, part 2). Live episodes every Tuesday at 7pm ET (6CT).

Re: Spectrum Build Blog + CAD Release + check_in

FYI, you have me to thank for the question about tracking gears. Was just a thought that occurred in another thread. I'd forgotten you can turn around an count remaining gears behind you, so that puts a slight damper on my visions of pilot sandbagging by not spinning rotors or hiding a gear or two. Honestly it won't matter a bit if it turns out the high level play makes 4 rotors as routine as breaching was last year. No point tracking it if it's most likely going to happen with more than 40-50 seconds left.
