Angry Fixing Matches.

As a teacher I find it inexcusable to have teams fixing matches. We are mentors to our students. What are we telling our kids when mentors fix matches? What kind of example are we. I will not be able to sleep knowing what my students will be thinking about me if I fix the game. I don’t want them to remember me as the sheathing teacher. Let call it like it is sheathing. America doesn’t need this. Our childrem are the future of thi great country.

Do we really need another thread abou this topic? For that matter, do we even need to continue this debate? It's been pretty well discussed in:

Amen. I was really upset when matches were fixed. The spirit of FIRST was slightly tarnished. There was no reason why teams should've tried to fluff their scores like they did. I'm glad someone else noticed this.

So America needs more cutthroat competition even in when working together would yield a win-win situation? Is it cheating when competitors like Boeing and Lockheed-Martin work together to create a company like United Space Alliance to the benefit of both?

In my humble opinion, and in the hope that I get the last word, the consensus reached on this issue was the wrong answer. Those teams whose goal was to seed high should have tried to convince the other team to leave stacks standing every chance they got. Those teams whose goal was to win every match should have said, "no" every time someone suggested it.

There is nothing immoral about it.

Why have a competition?

Verdeyw, if you are able to predict the outcome of a match, there is no competition. The best team is not going to win. My concern is honesty. If we are told that to do this is not gracious, them what are we teaching our kids. I agreed with your analogy on merging company. I admire people like you that are donating time and resources to help our kids.

And for the final time, who says we know whos going to win? All there is just a high score idea. No fixing, and defanatly no rigging the matches for one alliance to win.
