My version of an MCC is just a gear mechanism (maybe even static if it's reliable), a good climber, and a standard chassis. Help your alliance get 12 gears, then play defense until it's time to climb.

Considering shifting gearboxes are a COTS item, I would. Also the lack of ground intake is what makes this part of an MCC because it's easy to implement.
