Perhaps I should start then.

My tradition at least is:
wake up late
take shower
clean my room
do something all day until dinner
eat
clean up the god awful mess in the kitchen from the feasting
do stuff
go to bed

exciting huh??? but i am sure there are many of you who do much cooler stuff!

My family's traditions change every year. Last year because my baby nephew and neice were over we did this, well, it was like an egg hunt Harry Potter style, my neice and nephew had a blast. It was alright, i wasn't into it that much. I got candy though and that is always a plus! This year we just ogt candy and went to the movies.

every year i go to my grandparents for passover. of course, almost every year we get there before they start the seder (big 'ordered' meal thingy that you do the first two nights of passover). dumb traffic...

now for the rest of the vacation, i sit around and eat matzah/matzoh/however you want to spell it. oh well, i still think it's not as bad as lent, as my friend gave up chocolate, and for the past month she's been going crazy to have some chocolate .

My parents apparently still believe I am five years old, so they still give me an Easter basket. So at least I come back to my dorm with a lot of chocolate to last me through finals...

Other than that, it was like a normal weekend for me, but it was nice being home with my family.

We had passover sedar at my house this year. We invited this guy that was really interesting. He was not jewish but he studied religion his whole life. He told us about his studies of the ancient paliolithic hebrew carved into stones found around the world and the Dead Sea Scrolls. Anyways, he said something really interesting. He said that the holiday of Easter was named after a holiday called Eashtar. (may be spelled wrong) I won't repeat what he said after that because most people may not agree but it may be something interesting to research.

Jehovah's Witnesses don't celebrate Jesus' resurrection, we celebrate his death. It's not really a "celebration" though. It's just a special evening service. I believe it's on the full moon...But anyway...We sing a particular song from the song book, pray, have a special talk, pray, pass around wine, pray, pass around the flat bread, pray, sing another song, pray, and that's about it. Yup. It's a good thing prayers are generally short. =P

Is the flat bread similar to Matza bread?
Because Matza bread is also known as flat bread because there isn't any yeast....
Cool stuff! I never knew Jehova's Witnesses celebrated things differently!

I really don't know...But I guess so. *tries to remember* I think it's just wheat flour, water, and salt. Or something really simple like that. It looks like some kinda funky cracker. =P

Well you see, JWs really don't celebrate anything at all...Jesus' death is the only thing we recognize and make a big deal out of...

It makes everything so easy. You don't have to waste all that money on presents or candy or anything. =P

But presents are fun! Like Adam Sandler says,
Quote:
Instead of one day of presents we get the 8 crazy nights
and I guess you know that song. So, if you feel like the only kid in town...without a Christmas tree. He guesses his first two songs didn't do it for ya...so he made number threeeeeeeeeee!

I love that song.

I don't do that Christmas thing! (I gotta be a rebel)

I'm Muslim, and I fast than celebrate the "Eid"

On the "Eid" we go out to eat w/ our families and give each other some money!
