ADXRS450 Gyro not detected

Hey everyone, rookie here,

We just received our first FIRST Choice order and in it came our ADXRS450 Gyroscope. I thought it would be easy, plug-and-play into the SPI port right? No... Whenever I try to initialize the gyro, DS throws out this error, however, the actual PCB (Gyro Sensor) is lighting up so I know its at least receiving power:

"ERROR 1 could not find ADXRS450 gyro on SPI port 0"

Here is how I'm declaring it:
Code:
ADXRS450_Gyro gyro = new ADXRS450_Gyro();
Based on my searching, it should be working, so I am worried it is hardware related. Any ideas on testing the sensor or the SPI port to figure it out?

Thanks,

DC

Re: ADXRS450 Gyro not detected

Hi DC!

There is a jumper on the right side of the board that must be set up correctly to connect properly. There are 4 prongs in a sideways T shape. The little jumper should be connecting the middle prong to the top prong, which is labeled CS0. Let me know if that doesn't work.

Thanks!

Kristen,

Thanks for the response, ours did have that jumper in place, but it still didn't read. It's not a problem anymore as we got another one in out KOP, but thanks for the help anyway.
