Human Player and Pilot Tryouts

Any idea on how to do tryouts for these two positions?

Re: Human Player and Pilot Tryouts

We probably won't have much of the field this year. We try to keep it objective, so we'll probably do 1/3 communication test, 1/3 rules test, and 1/3 physical test (probably something like feeding the robot, picking up some gear/fuel, and some task which requires being really careful). Honestly, anyone can be trained to do the actual tasks in this game, but being great at communication both before and after the match and helping the drive team solidify the strategy is a much bigger deal.

Pilots will have to have excellent communication skills considering they will be directly working with a random person in a small space for the whole match and they have a crucial job.
