Re: FIRST FRC Q&A
This is what happens when you rewrite everything in your online support system all in the same year: website, event registration, Q&A system. Each of those pieces worked well until it was replaced. They could have cleared up one or two of the lingering questions in today's team update, but they left it even more vague.

However, is it possible to get *all* of the answered questions on one page (yes, I know it will be long) for easy archival off-line (like to take to a tournament)? Last edited by Ken Streeter : 15-01-2017 at 15:45. |

Did you see we added an RSS feed? You can use any of the great free RSS readers to consume the feed and print the questions and answers. Announcment Post: https://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/s...hreadid=153702 The Feed: https://frc-qa.firstinspires.org/rss/answers.rss |

Re: FIRST FRC Q&A
Since I've gotten a couple of requests to re-share the google doc that I took down, I just want to clarify:
1. I took it down since I'll no longer be updating it either with new or modified responses, and I didn't want to be sharing outdated information 2. I created a spreadsheet that should update automatically (uses the RSS feed so I don't have to copy it over by hand): https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...xaQ/edit#gid=0 3. That spreadsheet has questions listed both by the order they were answered in and by question number. Missing questions are those that aren't answered yet. 4. Hopefully this spreadsheet is useful and is a decent replacement for the document. If you have suggestions on what would make it more useful let me know. |

Re: FIRST FRC Q&A
I know this is going to get buried, but I did want to express some things....
First, I want to thank Blake for developing this. Like most any major forklift IT operation, it wasn't perfect at first, it had some issues, but through iteration and hard work, it has improved greatly. Secondly, and far more importantly, thank you for interacting with the "users" of the system here, being open, listening to feedback, and, I really can't stress this enough: being responsive to our needs and concerns. Since it launched there's been several significant upgrades to the system, at a pace that eclipses what FIRST has been able to with, say, STIMS, for example. There's still some things to work on, but I feel far better knowing they are being worked on, and we can see tangible progress. I hope that FIRST can take this model, learn from it, and that we can see more like this from FIRST directly in the future. Again, thank you. |

Re: FIRST FRC Q&A
I'd like to add a sort request.
As a self-test for how well I know the rules, I like to try to predict the answers to UN-answered questions. Can a "unanswered-only" sort be put in? And I second any previous calls for being able to put everything into one printable document. Other than that, the site has grown on me--I particularly like the "most recent answers" sort so I can see what's brand new, and the quick linking to other questions. Can't wait to see how it does in future years! |

Re: FIRST FRC Q&A
Gah! another example of a team asking the inverse of a question in the body of the question: Q&A 297
In this case, the answer to the question in the title is Yes (Per R77), and the answer to the question in the body text is No (Per R77). GDC answered Yes, but the Yes doesn't apply to the question body. Can someone with a Q&A password submit a followup to correct this? it's unclear. |
