Re: 2017 Chairman's On-going Q&A

We are working on the question about corporations/university sponsors. thoughts on how a corporation is classified? Do we need to go to sponsor and ask if they are a corporation? We are trying to determine if this is a general definition for our bigger business or if is based on a specific business definition.

The executive summary questions can be found here and are in the submission process section in bullets between the team nickname and essay bullets.

Our first Vlog should be going up tonight! Stay tuned!

Re: 2017 Chairman's On-going Q&A

Is there an age requirement for chairman presenters?
For example, for drive team they say "pre-college age". Does this apply to chairman presentation as well?

We started to answer some of your questions this week in our Vlog series! You can see those here! ---> https://youtu.be/f_o_tUNaHok

Keep posting, Tweeting, and Facebooking your questions.

As for presenter age - I don't believe there is a rule written anywhere, I would assume it would be similar to the drive team as well.

Re: 2017 Chairman's On-going Q&A

How does one submit the award?? This is all that the designated "Award Submitter" sees on the FIRST dashboard.

Also, MN teams, is there any benefit (besides obviously winning the award) to be submitting the award?

If you go to the Team Management page on firstinspires, you can click on "Manage Youth Members and Roster", and then click "Full Roster" on the menu on the left side of the screen. From there, if you scroll down to the team section you will be able to check a box next to a student's name to select them as an award submitter.

My team and I want to have a watermark of gears for our submitted essay. We need to know whether or not the watermark(s) counts towards 1 of the 4 allowed images?

When you submit the award, you copy and paste text into text boxes for each Executive Summary question and the Essay. For the images, you upload four individual files. You won't be able to have a watermark on the essay since you aren't actually uploading a file.

I've submitted for this award for the past two years, and this is how it's been both times. I haven't looked at the award submission for this year, so it could be different, but I'd imagine it's the same. Once you're designated as an awards submitter on STIMS (or whatever the new version is called), you can enter the awards submission page and see exactly what the submission will look like!

EDIT: I just looked at the submission page on STIMS. It's the same as the past two years, you copy/paste the essay into a text box, so you wouldn't be able to add a watermark to your essay.

While it won't show up once you put it in STIMS, it would be a nice way to present your materials to the judges.

In the past they allowed you to submit photos online, but this year the submission form says that photos can be included in your presentation. <http://www.firstinspires.org/resourc...bmitted-awards> no longer mentions any picture submission for Chairman's, but it does for WFFA, so I assume that it's no longer something that needs to be submitted.

Re: 2017 Chairman's On-going Q&A

No wonder I couldn't find it. Thought I was losing my mind.

When you say the submission form says to include photos in the presentation, you mean the form student submitters use, right?

Thanks!
