Sending Gyro Information to Dashboard

First year FRC member in charge of my teams programming department. I am having trouble taking the information for the robots gyro and sending it to the dashboard.

I am able to do a System.out.println() of the gyro information so I know it is reading the information. But i am unable to get it to the GUI of the dashboard. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Sending Gyro Information to Dashboard

Code:
SmartDashboard.putNumber("Gyro angle", gyro.getAngle());

Read the documentation found here. Don't ask questions like this without spending 5 minutes to read about it in the documentation.

Re: Sending Gyro Information to Dashboard

Note that as of last year, the ideal display widget for gyro information ("compass") was broken.

Thank you very much this is what I was trying to do and was unable to do so. I thought the sample code I was using was not working.

Were you able to print the gyro's position to the smart dashboard? The compass feature being broken shouldn't interfere with that.
