I don't know if this is a quick and dirty fix for teams needing those pulleys, but my team CADed their own for last year's game, and they are very similar. We 3D printed a bunch of them. If anyone is interested, PM me and I'll see if I can load the files here tomorrow.

R.C., any updates on the gearboxes? I'm assuming some of the parts still need to come in.

I'm particularly interested in the shifting components we ordered as well. Those are kinda important to our gearboxes...

We had a few screws that we missed in our BOM list that are coming today from McMaster. Everything else is in the process of being kitted. The first 1/3 of orders will go out today and the rest throughout the week. Most people should see shipping emails go out starting today.

Manual for assembly should be up by this week as well.

This is horrible service. How can you think it is a good idea to put something up for sale and then not ship it for several weeks into the build season. I understand problems happen but you have been saying next week they will ship every week. At this rate we will be getting them week 7

Please watch your tone. You are not the only team waiting for delivery of parts ordered as early as Kickoff. Publicly bashing WCP is not a solution to the problem.

Re: WCP: 2017 Product Launch + MCC 2017

WCP is one of only a half dozen companies who strive to serve this very niche market. The amount of thought and labor they put into their products each year is astonishing and much appreciated. Every year, there are production issues and delivery issues from each of these companies, and we niche consumers would be well advised to give them our support and patience. Thanks, R.C., I know you guys are working your asses off for us.

You might not agree with him, but I don't think that post had an unacceptable tone.

I greatly appreciate FRC suppliers, but they ought not be immune to public criticism when they fail to satisfy their customers.

Fair comment.
I happen to agree with the frustration these delays produce. They have thrown a huge kink into our build schedule. What I disagree with is venting these frustrations here. I also believe he has the right to express these frustrations, I just don't see how it helps in any way, shape, or form.
Sometimes you just need to roll with it and make adjustments.

I think it's also good to know that this niche market means margins are slim for our generous suppliers. We've gotten bit by product delays as well, it is really just one of the costs that come with so many great COTS solutions from suppliers like WCP.

I do recommend teams continue to bolster their own manufacturing capabilities, so you can have a stop-gap solution if COTS components are delayed. I know that is not feasible 100% of the time, but it is something we've gotten used to over the years.

Frustrations are valid, but it could be worse! Just another challenge to overcome.

Side note: suppliers are human too, and flaming them on a public forum, while valid, might not help your case when you need a favor from a supplier down the line.

-Mike

Disclaimer: I don't represent any FRC suppliers.

On the flip side, I was quite surprised to receive my shiny new 12t 32dp pinions and GT2 belt motor pulleys in WI in JUST 3 DAYS I'm feeling pretty spoiled with my quick shipping times (so far) from every FRC supplier + McMaster.

Good luck, everyone, with your delays. I would be more worried if a build season went smoothly!
