Nice and relatively simple, I like. Looks like you have a pulley next to what looks like your rope hook. Is that just for extra traction or is there something else there?

We had difficulty winding the rope around a thin shaft so we tried different wheels and pulleys. The pulley above the hook just happened to be the right size so we used it.

Just tested it a few days ago. Nearly perfectly consistent albeit a little slow. We'll be steadily lowering the reduction until we get a consistent and fast speed. Preferably sub-5 seconds.
