Re: pic: Titanium Tomahawks 2170 Teaser
Is that a 3d printed PVC pipe hex plug? Could I get the model for that?

Akash, you forgot the box!
Sure, PM me your email and I'll send it over. It's nothing crazy. |

Re: pic: Titanium Tomahawks 2170 Teaser
Looking good! Good luck this year. Only question: Are you worried about being too top heavy when moving throughout the playing the field and suddenly stopping? Just wondering.

Seem some 2009*shudder* inspiration in this robot.

Re: pic: Titanium Tomahawks 2170 Teaser
I'd work on some weight down low if you can. If you accelerate quickly and then stop suddenly this robot is on its side.

Re: pic: Titanium Tomahawks 2170 Teaser
Best I can tell, 2009 is The Game You Should Be Cribbing Notes Off Of.
Personally, I'm curious about how that ramp is getting raised and lowered. I'm liking the concept though--this is borderline cheesecake-able to help a team operate at a higher level. |

Re: pic: Titanium Tomahawks 2170 Teaser
This is very similiar to our design. We are using pnuematics to raise our floor(very slowly) and close off the opening for the space that we intake fuel from the floor.

We took a lot of inspiration from 111, 1918, and 2775's 2009 robots here. Quote:

That ramp (elevator carriage) is supported on each corner by a 3D printed bracket bolted to a linear bearing. The bearings are each riding on a stainless steel rod, one in each corner. The current plan is to have a run of #25 chain on either short side of the robot (two total) and bolt the chain to the carriage. Idler sprockets at the top of the robot will be connected by a shaft and we'll tuck a gearbox in the drivebase to power it on one side. |

What're the black rollers made out of? It looks like continuous strand carbon fiber.

Re: pic: Titanium Tomahawks 2170 Teaser
Does your "elevator ramp" drop down to "ground level"? How are you lifting ground fuel up to the "ramp"

Re: pic: Titanium Tomahawks 2170 Teaser
Quote:
The cut-out piece of ramp will be re-attached with a hinge to act as a "trap-door" that folds out of the way when the elevator is in the floor position, and folds back down when the elevator lifts the ramp to score in the low goal (between the two black rollers) or dump into other robots (above the top black roller). |

Re: pic: Titanium Tomahawks 2170 Teaser
I truly apologize for giving my advice. Next time I'll make sure to build an identical robot and do some testing before giving anyone a tip.
