Help with basket

Hello. I am wondering if we could use a pre-made wire basket for ball collecting that can be modified. Is using this a rule violation. Thank you

Re: Help with basket

As long it does not cost over $400 and is not made of hazardous material and is within robot dimensions, it is allowed.

Re: Help with basket

Using COTS parts is great, and actually encouraged by the rules. If you bring a spare COTS basket to competition with you (or run down to WalMart on Saturday morning to get one), you do not have to count it as part of your withholding allowance, unless you have modified it. Unless it is too expensive, unsafe, transmits wi-fi or violates some other "general" robot rule, go for it.
