funny story

I heard something kind of funny today on the news. We were listening to it at six in the morning on the way to school. It said:

Some kids threw a water balloon out the window of a school bus. It hit the windshield of a car and exploded. The owner of the car wants to sue the school board because it was dangerous. The bus driver reported who through it and police arrested two kids. They were charged with...wait! You won't believe what they were charged with...they were charged with "the launching of a deadly missile".

Yeah, it's dangerous and they got what they deserved. The car could've swerved, rolled, etc., and caused a huge pile-up, possibly killing people.

Its not so much what, as the fact that they were throwing things at a moving car. You may not be drivers yet, but driving down the road and something comes flying at the window, a lot of people are gonna panic and swerve. Swerve into oncoming traffic, swerve off the road, slam on brakes and get rear-ended. As someone who has been in an accident that rendered his car useless, it is not all that funny. Cars can create a LOT of damage to people and things. Not to mention the cost and hardship of not having a car/having to have a car fixed.

As for suing, its unfortunate, but our culture has come to the point where the threat of a lawsuit will often prompt more changes then an actual lawsuit.

Going out to a friends house I had a pigeon smack into my Cherokee windsheild. Man did that scare the crap out of me. I didn't swerve or get into an accident, but man did it make me check my pants... No damage to the windshield too...(Thank my lucky stars)

Since we are at war...at least when this happened...the kids may be considered terrorists for launching a deadly missile. I think that would be a bit extreme. Also, it could be considered a bomb because the water balloon exploded when it hit the car.

heh, I was staying at friends house at the lake of the Ozarks, and we had one of them ballon launchers . . . we rigged it to the dock . . .

His older brother was out driving their older speedboat, toawing a couple of his friends in a vicious bout of high speed tube wars, when we decided to start launching baloons at them . . . we hit the windsheild of the boat as it was going by . . . and the driver almost fell over . . . . it was awesome.

And then we figured out that we could launch M-80's from the thingy also . . . . THAT was where the real fun began.

I had just taken my Indiana driver's license test, and was feeling confident about getting my license and all that jazz. My mom and I were talking and whatnot, and all of a sudden a bird smacked into the windshield. I didn't realize what happened until the feathers started flying and a big red streak formed down my window.

I was so hysterical I had to pull over. And my license was still warm from being printed!

Those came out ok. I didn't even see it coming till i heard a "thud" "thump-thump-thump" and saw the bird roll down my back window. I saw a grey ball thing when it hit the wind shield, but you don't really think of that when it first happens. (all you think about is ducking and saving your self!) I was going 50 too! (The thump was the bird hitting my wind shield an the thump was the bird rolling on my roof - hitting my roof racks)
