Powerbook or iBook?

Alright. My parents are letting me choose a gift for graduation. My sister got a car and a cellphone for her graduation. I already have both of those so I was searching for something else. At a loss of ideas, I asked one of my friends what I should get and they recomended a laptop. I liked that idea. Rather than just sticking with an x86 laptop, I decided to go a different route. I've decided I want an Apple notebook. After all the 'eww's of my friends finished, I decided on either the 14" iBook (most expensive one at $1.4k) or the 15" Powerbook (midrange at $2.2k). I just don't know which to get What should I get?

NO! The 17" PowerBook!

But overall, get a PowerBook, not the 14"iBook. The 14" has the same resolution as the 12" iBook, but bigger pixles.

All the guys at work that have mac's (4) all have PowerBooks, and seem pretty happy with them. That's what I'd get if i were (a) getting a mac, and (b) wanted a portable computer.

I like the idea of a 15". I'm not going to be bringing a TV or anything like that. Full-screen DVD's on my laptop (and a tuner card in the desktop) should fullfill my video media need. The 17" is out of the question.

My girlfriend has a 15" PowerBook, and loves it to death. She's even convinced me to consider buying one for next year, and I've been a long-time PC user. If you're getting this for college, don't forget to check out and special deals your college may have made with Apple in addition to the normal Apple academic pricing.

I like my friend's 17" Powerbook quite a lot. It makes the iBook look bad.
