So what do you think?

We tried to make a cart of our own this season didn't work. It was really fun to ride though!!! So, what do you think? I know, I know, it doesn't look like it can carry a robot very well. Well, it can't LOL. I am the one in the red, squealing the whole time. Breanne (bittersweet294) is in front. Tyler kicks me off, (LOL, he couldn't hack it, he fell off) And kevin is the weirdo that goes YEEEHAAWWW! LOL, it was all in good fun. Is it true that carts aren't allowed anymore?

the cart

We were thinking of doing the same thing (building a drivable cart)

what were some of the issues you ran into?

I don't think they would ever disallow carts -- especially if we are going back to Houston next year. Could you imagine carrying a 130 lb robot, tools and controls all the way from the pits to the competition area?

Well that would be a heck of an exercise program.

I stated that wrong, i heard that now they aren't allowing motorized carts...i don't get to make another toy.

As for the design difficulties, a lot of the things went wrong. It is mostly because of a bad design.

We were trying to make the be able to go in reverse be having a 2 to one ratio so when you turn the steering...lever i guess you could call it, then the wheels spin all of the way around. Yeah someone put the gears on wrong so now it is very difficult to stear. Second of all, some genius, (Who will remain nameless..Cough...Cough...Kevin...Cough) Excuse me, I had something in my throat. N-e way, he put castors on the back...as you can see in the video that made it very hectic. Oh was a whole lot of things but bassically it was bad design. Hopefully we are able to better this year. Armin is going all out. He is planning to buy this cart thing from Wisconsin and take it apart and then completely rebuild. The only problem is is that the person selling it told us that it can go up to fifty hours per hour but it can't stop...Armin is goiing to kill us all! LOL.

I met fifty miles per hour, LOL.
A team mate told me that they weren't allowed anymore. I don't know where he find out but that is the only reason why my mom isn't letting him buy that cart from Wisconsin.

I think you have been tricked. I haven't seen anything or heard anything official from FIRST and the other people I have talked to about this haven't heard anything like this either.

*shaking my head*

First of all it was another mentor who told Armin who told me. I didn't think it was true that carts aren't allowed, and glad to get a reality check here.

I'm not LETTING Armin buy it cuz carts aren't allowed? No.

I'm not willing to spend the @$1400 out of robotics' money.

ps. It goes only 35mph, but it charges overnight for up to 50 miles.
