Thumbs down Midwest Conference Service ERROR

Just a heads up for anyone dealing with Midwest Conference Service. I don't know how much they are used by FIRST, but at the Sacramento regional they handled the drayage. They tried to bill me twice for a slight overage. Full excerpt from their email below. I decided to check my credit card to make sure and was surprised to hear that the charge went through just fine. I asked them how many teams they had collected on and they said about ten.

I asked them to call all the teams they potentially double billed...we'll see. I don't suspect foul play...but it is obvious the head does not know what the hands are doing in this company.

The charge was for $44.00 dollars and it was in regards to the Sacramento Regional. The credit card which was supplied, came up invalid when it was ran through our credit card machine. This could be do to incorrect credit card information given to me. If Mr. Grant could contact me at (630) 351-3976, or if you could, we could go over the information and see how we can bill this amount. Thank you for the return email, have a great day.

They handle the drayage for all the Competitions....they have done some odd things in the past....our crate apparently weighed 800lbs in Houston, however when it was weighed when leaving the Midwest Regional it weighed 458lbs. So apparently it gained a couple robots, we took care of that error.

yeah as I said in another thread, we had a robot, 2 batteries, and nothing else in our crate and they said that it weighed like 500 lbs or something outrageous like that and charged us 40 or so dollars. We were offered the chance to repack our crate and weigh it to get back the 44 dollars, but we thought the money was well worth the time it would save.
