Don't like...

3: Has way too much color change. Won't look good on paper. Don't like the text over text.

4: I'm not a huge fan of the text changing color and the whole morphed text thing.

5: While it's cool, the problem is with it is the size, the fluff, and the fact it dosn't have a name, just three letters.

Ones I like:

1: Simple, but the mag glass can be moved closser to the text.

2: While it still only has three letters, the good thing is that it's smaller.

6: My favorite of the bunch. It has little or no gradient, has the full name, and looks cool.

6 Gets my vote.

As a head's up. . .

I can make 2 and 5 any size you'd like. I don't think that ought to be an issue, really. I can also change the colors.

They were meant to be proof of concept, not finished product.

I like 1,2, and 5 myself. I think 6 looks almost ugly, a bit too plain for me. Why does it have to say FIRST Scouting Network? we have been referring to it as FSN. Do we always spell out FIRST? Nope, we type FIRST, not For Inspiriation and Recognition of Science and Technology.

I like #2. Why?

-It's simple
-It's easy to recognize
-It's compact

I think those are the key elements we need in a logo. As much as I liked my number 3, and all the others, I think #2 fits the needs of the logo better. The others are just too complex.

wow... tough decision.. the three I really like are all still there...
my choices are between.... 2, 5, and 6

I really like the simplistic look of 2 and 5. I think I would choose 2 over 5 becuase 5 has a bit more complexity to it.

6 would look great on a shirt.... however, if centered 2 and 5 would look great too.

decisions, decisions... I know I don't like the other ones, because they remind me too much of banner adds... and have too much 'movement' to them for me.

Everyone who has still yet to vote should keep in mind that these logos have to go on different things. Both web and print and possibly in other things. So they need to be able to reproduced in high quality at low resolution or high resolution and still hold up after being photocopied 10 times.

Just as the triangle circle square of FIRST is recognized by any participant, I think this logo could have the same sort of reputation.

i'd have to say my choice is number two, because of the reasons that many people have said- its simplistic, but not boringly so. it catches people's eyes and is visually interesting, easily recognizable. looks fine in color or black and white. as much as i like the first design, i think it's slightly complicated and large; whereas the second has a variable size and even color, if necessary, and would still be easy to see as the fsn logo. and i definitely think an acronym's necessary, if only because of space constraints- and at this point, i think most people would be able to recognize FIRST Scouting Network as FSN.

i like all of them, but number two is the best! it looks so cool! it's distinctive and professional, which is just what we need.
