SOAP and GLR?

What happened with SOAP's video's (well, Wildstang's videos on SOAP's site) of Great Lakes? It says *Digitally Remastered* but all the match videos are gone and only the Opening/Closing Ceremonies are there now.

What bothers me is that first doesn't have the videos of each devision. They have the videos for some of the regionals, but the important one they don't have, that doesn't make sense.

Good Luck To Everyone at the invitationals.

ok, as this is my own opinion... don't think it's my teams...

but yeah... i've not been happy with SOAP in the past, like last year when our team did do WASH, and nothing ever worked like it was sposed to.... lalala, so on. Don't get me wrong... most of you know i love 108 as a team (i've been adopted!! ) and i even like the people that do SOAP... i just don't like the actual program itself... and i won't hold it against the members of the team, as they had nothing to do with it

again, this is my own opinion, don't bash anyone else for what i say

and greg, what are you talking about the important regional? ::slaps the freshman:: anyways... it's really not FIRST's fault. maybe someone else has a video.

I am not blaming first for anything. I just think that FIRST should archive the videos from the regionals, and from the invitationals if possible. ::slaps the junior:: sorry if I was confusing Elyse: I would recommend that Elyse said, ask around on the boards, see if someone else has the video.

BTW Elyse, hit the Spell Check button at the bottom of the page next time.

Good Luck to everyone at the invitationals

Bandwith is not free. I don't even want to know how much SOAP spends, even less where they get the money.

There is not video available for all the regionals. SOAP was done a wonderful job getting what they did get.
As far as I know, there has not been a webcast from any offseason competition yet.

I understand what you mean. But all I am saying, is when i do a lot of my own video posting on the Internet (not first related) it hardly costs me anything. I understand that it does cost money, and I am not blaming anyone. All I am saying, is that it would be cool if they would do broadcasts and archives of off-season events. Please do not take what I am saying to be an insult to anyone. I am just saying that it would be cool if they did something like that.

Good Luck to everyone at the invitationals

what wetzel said, greg. hopefully people will eventually submit videos to SOAP so that we can watch play-by-plays 'til our little hearts are content. we'll just have to wait and see.

and greg...don't confuse people's slang with misspelling. if you'd have been on the team long enough, you'd know how i speak. trust me, you don't want me to start treating you like i treat another member of our team who is a sophomore and didn't learn from his freshman year how to act.. you haven't been around long enough to slap me when i make an error. remember that. (consequence: do you remember human burritos? you don't want that to happen to you. it hurts.)

well... you might want to check our this forum:

http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/fo...?forumid=83&s=

In there, people are devlopeing an "open source" scouting system (FIRST Scouting Network or FSN) You comments one what failed in the past, and how to make a system better in the feature would be loved.

Alright Elyse, I will wave the white flag. lol. I guess the comparison you made, made me think "outside the box". I see what you mean now. Sorry about the slap comment. I know you'll get me back for it though.

It seems this post has regressed past the point of anyone knowing the original question and everyone talking about operating costs.
(This isn't a bump post, it's a redirection of topic)

Just plain out forgot. "real work" here at motorola has had members of 111 and 108 "swamped". 111 spent a few nights until 4am re-digitizing those videos.

A couple teams had requested awards movies (including the chairman's winner) and we focused first on that. The rest of the matches are at work and we'll try to remember to FTP them to the server on Tuesday.

Quicker way to proceed in future is use the feedback link on soap108.com or PM soap108.

Regards,
SOAP Team

IRI has potential. Any news DK?

The Central Florida teams' post-season event should be webcast.

i recently borrowed our mmedia groups' midi-dv camera to record our team's award ceremony and left good impression with the owners.... maybe they'll let me borrow for indiana.... i'll ask.

does the school have a camera + tripod that we can use also?

i'd be nice to have 2 giant screens to project the video feed & scoring screens onto....... i have the projectors, but if we could borrow the school's that'd be much better.

maybe I will take that trip to Indiana....
