LA suburb bans Segway.
L.A. Times story.
It requires registration. In short, the Los Angeles suburb of La Mirada enacted a ban against Segways on their sidewalks. Pasadena is considering banning Segways in crowded shopping districts. La Miradas ban is supposed to be temporary, until they can begin to widen sidewalks to accomodate pedestrians and Segways.
