"borrow" an iPod (i'm pretty sure kyle has one, no?), download all the music to there, then put it into the laptop, copy files onto laptop.
done, at no extra expense. if you don't have an iPod (or similar device), then you do need a crossover cable, which is usually sold at computer stores (at very high prices, but it's sold there).
