Goal feeding ball mechanism?????

If a mechanism were to be designed which spread the pvc goal bars to allow unobstructed feeding of balls into the goal. Would said mechanism be required to be retracted before the end of the match? Or could said mechanism still contact the pvc goal bars once the match time had expired? Any help would be appreciated as we can not post to yahoo via school because of the firewall.
