Drill Motor, low gear, 1:2 ratio, 8" wheels Calculated Speed: 5.23 ft/sec Measured Speed: n/a Option 2 (backup) Drill Motor, low gear, 1:3 ratio, 8" wheels Calculated Speed: 3.49 ft/sec Measured Speed: n/a Initial ratio - Failed- Too much motor stress, tripped 30A breakers Drill Motor, HIGH Gear, 1:3 ratio, 8" wheels Calculated Speed: 11.63 ft/sec Measured Speed: n/a See and feel free to use attached XLS file for calculations. http://wihs.zapto.org/first/wheel_speed.xls BTW: The CURRENT drive system, can push a 190 pound adult. ;^] Last edited by MrB : 03-02-2002 at 16:55. |
