I've seen it several times, and it is a great movie.

Jack Sparrow and Barbosa are the two people that really make the movie good. Will and elizibeth are your typical BORING predicatable cliche disney characters. The movie would have sucked if they had been the only leads. The pirates, tho, the pirates were great. I thought Barbosa was a great character, second only to Jack sparrow (friend of mine: "Thats no swagger, thats a stagger!")

Definatley one of my favorite movies. I think it may even be better then LOTR and HP.
Yes, i would say its def up there with LOTR, but i dont think anything can top LOTR. however, Pirates gets pretty close. i know i initially was attracted to the fact that johnny (ugh, i still cant get over how hott he is in that movie) and orlando were in it, but i also wanted to see it for the movie. i thought it was cool that they took that scene in the prison cell, when the prisoners were trying to get the dog with the keys to come to them, directly out of the ride. that was a nice touch.

i went to go and see it for the actual movie. i dont like either orland bloom or johnny depp, though i must say that they both did excellent jobs playing their roles. and i have to agree, the eyeliner on johnny depp was awesome. i loved the movie, that it was so awesome, and i am going to go see it again as soon as i can

the corset quote wasn't that great. It was too out of place in the movie. Especially how they stopped the action and zoomed in for the delivery. I expect that out of movies like dumb and dumbererer. or whatever.

I liked all the pirate lingo better. Whenever any of them opened their mouthes I was laughing. Half the time it took a few viewings just to figure out what the hell the pirates meant through all those aye! arrr! me mateys!.

I would have to agree with everyone- its was a fantastic movie. I predict Johnny Depp will win numerous awards for his portryal of Jack Sparrow. He wears more eyeliner than me, yet I've never seen it look so sexy....

personally I think Depp was better in the movie Blow (no it's not porn)... It's about the Weymouth drug dealer... They say that if you bought cocaine in th 70's or 80's there was a 95% chance it came from him... It was a great movie...

i agree. i think my favorite line/part was when sparrow and elizabeth were on the island and she burned all the rum and sparrow said "why's the rum gone?" and she said that the signal is 100ft high so someone will find them. and sparrow said, "yeah, but why is the rum gone?" i was cracking up at that part. he had a lot of great lines.

I loved the ride references, but I didn't see the dumping of the mayor into the well in the movie...

Note to self: Dress like Johnny Depp, even if it means wearing frilly clothes.

I thought the movie was funny, especially the part about burning the rum.

I saw Pirates of the Caribbean for the movie... not the stars. Although they did grab my attention (Orlando Bloom *drool*) No seriously though, I liked the movie for the characters, and IMO Johnny Depp made the movie... he played an excellent role as Jack Sparrow.

I saw it and it was a cool movie all around.

But.. I know somone who walked out after 15 minutes because he thought that Johnny Depp's character was acting... (umm.. how should I put this) fruity...

I noticed that too, but just wrote it off as part of the character I guess.

This movie was an all around hit for me. I must admit that after seeing edward scissorhands as a child i've always had a sort of juvenille fear of johnny depp. i just couldnt get the creepy image of him in that movie out of my mind. but after seeing this movie i any fear i had of him is totally gone. he was so cute in the movie and i thought the eyeliner totally worked on him. i never thought i'd consider a man in makeup attractive but i guess if it works for girls, why can't it work for guys? after all it takes a very confident guy to dip into his girlfriend's cosmetics bag. and his drunken swagger was so hot.
