latex tubing rules??

Hey all. Alright, I have a question. What are the rules regarding latex tubing. Is there a restriction to how much we are allowed to use? And Michael says there might be a rule that states latex tubing can only be used for certain things. Is this true?? Can anyone help me out here?? Thanks!!

More specifically, I recall a rule regarding the latex tubing that was worded something to the effect of:

No more than 5' of latex tubing may be used to shoot balls"

This could be a figment of my deluded mind, though. At any rate, we are planning on using it for something totally unrelated to the balls - and we're assuming, then, that we can use any length we purchase from Small Parts. . .

Would this be an accurate interpretation, in your opinion?

This is a weird one

All of the rules in the rule book and the updates seem to indicate that you can use as much latex tube as you want as long as you buy it from Small Parts.

The Inspection Checklist that was included in one of the updates includes an item to check to be sure that less than 5 feet was used for launching balls.

Like Mr. Krass said, we're using a lot of latex tube for other purposes than launching balls, so we're buying much more than 5 feet from Small Parts.

from the rule book

From the rule book, on rule K4, it is said that for safety reasons you may not fabricate your own spring... etc.

At the end of that rule: Materials which are designated as springs include:

All items listed in the springs section of the kit list,

Springs from Small Parts, INC

and Latex tubing.

But, I don't see any Latex tubing in the additional hardware list... So I guess you can use the 5 ft latex tubing from the kit, or get however long you need from small parts.
