My advice:
Go for it, so long as you arent the only one trying to start a team. Trying to start one all by yourself as a college freshmen may be too much. If you have a few other interested, thenwork together on it and go for it. I don't know 100% but I dont think that regionals reserve spots for rookie teams (I could be wrong of course)
