We haven't received our stuff yet, I cant see how FIRST could do this because what if a team forgets to incorporate that with their weight/design...What happens when they get to competition adn are 132 lbs are they going to make an acception????

Brian Team 56

P.S. thats not our team I was just wondering if any other team would do that...

I do not think that FIRST would make an exception to someone who forgot the light.
All the rookie teams are suppost to have gotten them already, and the vets should have last years light. The light this year and last are the same, so just go ahead and use that for now, and switch them when(if?) the new one comes.
Not getting the retroreflective tape at the begging I think killed any use of our team of the optics to track the goals.
Oh well. Maybe next year FIRST will order the stuff furter in advance.

Like I said in a couple other threads, they sent it all out to the rookies first. All of them have them and we'll get our soon. I hope...

FIRST has told all veterans to use their old lights until the new ones get shipped out because they are identical parts!

Yeah

On the subject o' the light we're fine. It's the tape we really need... we have sensors to test and nothing to test them with!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Innovation First has tape...

I think that Innovation First has the tape you want.

It will cost you $90 but at least it is available.

Get a reflecter from a bicycle or something similer. It will work for testing.

We haven't been shipped our parts either. We don't need a light, but retro-reflective tape would be nice. And the battery connectors are really important, after someone cut through ours last year. But our drive system parts finally came in today!!! We'll be driving by tommorrow, if we can drill those darn chippua gears.

We had the same problem with needing replacement battery connectors. Someone on our controls team found perfect substitutes in the auto parts section of the local Wal-Mart. You might check there if yours do not arrive in the mail from FIRST.
