I have seen a robot that was attached to the lower half of the Segway, and it used the Seg as a mode of transportation, and the robot could rotate and grab things.

This article about autonomous battlefield robots and the Pentagon makes me think of a certain movie trilogy starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. I hope we never see the creation of the Segway HT - the Segway Human Terminator....
