I loved heatwave's look when extended out. It was scary watching it fold out too. 179's paint job was awesome. I liked 180's big scary look. Think Pink made their entire bot pink, it was funny how many parts of it were pink, I thought it was awesome.

I think we gave the chunk to one of our mentors who couldn't believe her eyes. I suppose it matters at what angle you hit it and if it's an edge piece, etc.
You guys think thats bad on our (240)'s 2002 robot we actually puched holes, ripped, and broke Lexan by ramming it into those goals. We just considered it battle damage and (me being the driver) convinced them to hang it up in our work room... its a very nice decoration. And as for nice looking robot I dont think that our 2002 robot was too bad it was just 80-20 with Clear Lexan and two big Lexan Rollers for popping balls! As for 2003 well our decal guy got changed and our stickers were really crappy so well its our ugly robot... but it did work.

So...
Who has pictures of the 312 2003 robot?
I can't seem to find any good ones of it, pretty much anywhere.

*shrug*

One of those things I wanted to take another look at, but couldn't.

Thanks,
John

because of the strict secrecy during the build season, their isn't usually alot of pictures of us... but firstrobotics.net does have a picture of us from the back at UCF

http://www.firstrobotics.net/03galle...0312-1_JPG.htm

you can see that the 'bot is fully deployed, with the 'joust' extended out front, and the wings dropped so that we can work on them. the only changes that were made after that picture was taken was the addition of globe motor driven wenches to hold the wings down, and the removal of the front pnuematic break (which isn't visible) to trim weight.
sorry i wasn't able to find any from the front.

[edit] you can get a partial view of our front decal here:

Thanks a lot.
The ones you posted in the edit are exactly what I'm looking for.

Hell of a robot. I remember watching it in the elims (against BUZZ and Daisy) and being really impressed.

Thanks again,
John

Back at the days when Team 60 Kingman High School come to the silicon valley regional, their robots were ALWAYS one of the most beautiful made robot out there. Their 00, 01, 02, 03 robot were all absolutely beautiful machines.

The other team that has really good looking robot is team 115 Monta Vista High School. They rarely painted their robot, but their machining was ALWAYS the best looking jobs I have seen out there, especially their gearbox.

As someone mentioned, the 192 Gunn Robotics Team 03 robot had a great chassis with teh black and the red.

Also, one of the first swerve drive out in the west, the robot of team 258 Lincoln high school did an amazing job this year doing their gearbox and the whole drive train in general. Their motion was the smoothest I've ever seen at the competitions I've watched.

Mike,
You're relatively new here, so please take this under consideration.

Of course you're kinda partial. We all love our own robots. The point of this thread, and threads like it is to spotlight OTHER robots. If everyone came on here and posted about their own robot, it wouldn't be any fun.

So please... in the future... NEVER mention your own robot in a "best of" or "most impressive" or "most likely to win" thead.

It's just not cool.

Instead, why don't you tell us about some cool robots you saw this past season? I know 126 went to NH, UTC and Nats... What cool robots did you see there?

I would hope that everyone, please, please, please keeps this in mind.

John

Re: Best Looking Bot

The Robot I liked best last year was Dana's I think (I want to say 279 (TechFusion) correct me if im wrong) It was Silver and Blue and it looked like a Peacock when it was all unfolded, that just really caught my eye especially when it mounted the ramp.
