3dsmax r5/r6 compatibility?

I recall last year running into issues between work saved on r4 and r5 machines. Does anyone know how well r5 and r6 play together? I'd hate to have to upgrade all the licenses as that could get rather expensive.

Thanks.

Anish.

Re: 3dsmax r5/r6 compatibility?

I have not been able to open even simple .MAX files created in MAX r6 using MAX r5. But hey, you can always open them the other way around, so using MAX 5 for modeling is just fine if the final composition is done on MAX 6.

Re: 3dsmax r5/r6 compatibility?

It's good to hear that things open in Max 6 because we're using 4 , 5 , and 6 this year... obviously 6 will be used to put it all together
