Go to Post A wrench isn't a nesscary part is it? Last Night, we tested the robot and a large, (yes I said LARGE) wrench fell from somewhere on the robot....Along with bolts, nuts, and a very interestingly cut piece of Aluminum... - Will Bale [more]

where to buy treads?

what is a good place to buy treads?
few years ago we (555) had bad experiences with brek-o-flex (took way to long to get to us) and we need a good, fast place to buy some

You can always use a timing belt belt flipped over.

Re: where to buy treads?

For tanks you could look in at an industrial suply store for items like chian that have flanges on them or look in a catalog for something like that.

we've used a setup like that for one our battlebots but has yet to be seen on any of our first robots yet.

They look really nice, but a tad bit expensive for our team.

There have been problems in the past that if too many orders are put in to them, there is a good chance that your order could get backordered. In one case I've heard about at team a few years ago that ordered from them and recieved their extra parts a month and a half later. Basically what they are saying, order quickly and order plenty of extras...

Re: where to buy treads?

We've never had anyproblems with our reversed timing belt method, although the screws in it did chew up the floor of our robotics room.
