24-hour helpline

I heard that there was a 24-hour helpline for FIRST from somewhere (I can't remember where) and I was wondering if anyone had that number. I have searched on www.usfirst.org and cd, but i cant find it, i might have missed or overlooked something. If you have the number or know where I can get it, that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much

All the contact information to FIRST is inside the "Communication" section of the documents. http://www.usfirst.org/robotics/doc_updt.htm

However, I do not see anything about a 24 hour helpline. What I do see, are non-24 hour help lines between 8:30am and 5:00pm for team support, competition questions, control system, engineering, provide corporate sponsor to FIRST, and using the FIRST logo.

As far as I understand it, FIRST is have limited staff, and doing a 24 hour help line is asking a lot from that group. So, I think you might have heard wrong about it.

If I am not mistaken, FIRST was planning on setting up a forum-like system which would be answered as soon as possible. However, when I talked to FIRST before kickoff they weren't sure if they would have this operating, I think they are very busy still just finalizing everything... and they haven't been able to organize this. Maybe it'll pop up in the coming days/weeks... but if not, there's still ChiefDelphi. I will try to find out more about this tommorow, but what I said above I am pretty sure on. If I find more I shall post it.

Folks - please take the time to read through the entire manual - at least once. It is quite informative. If you try and cannot find your answer, then, from "Section 2 - Communication":

2.3 GETTING ANSWERS TO YOUR QUESTIONS

First will utilize an on-line Manual, starting in 2004, including a web-based question and answer system. To submit a question to FIRST, you will have to log in with a password. Each team can obtain its password within its team record in the Team Information System (TIMS).

To ask a question, you will have to specify the section of the Manual for which you need clarification. Teams will be able to view questions and answers sorted by date or Manual section. (The Game, The Robot, etc.)
