Re: Is this big? Or Not?

Ive always thought that we could send people to Mars next year, if they were willing to take a one way trip. Its not so hard to get there, its landing a whole ship that can take off again and return to earth that makes it soooooo expensive and difficult.

I mean, think about it - the people who came to north america from europe on the Mayflower and the other early settlers - they had no intention of going back - it was do or die.

Im sure we could keep sending them supplies on a regular basis, and they could take their best shot at establishing a colony

and if they dont survive more than a year or so, they will still be THE MOST FAMOUS people in the human race - first human to set foot on another planet.

People have given up their lives for FAR less than that!
