Post faqs on our bot

the 2002 bot for the nashua high school/BAE SYSTEMS FIRST team:

We have made some mods from the picture, our wheels had so much traction, we were blowing breakers with both goals, so we took 2 wheels off and now have ball transfer casters for our front, ths makes our turning radius very smalll. The transmission we had on was taken out due to the fact that our vee belts were slipping way too much to turn with the goals. we now have a chain drive set-up with both the chipua and the drill on the same gear.
our pneumatic gaol lifting system seems to the normal human eye not to be lifting at all, but that is not true, we are actually transferring weight from the goals on to our chassis! we take about 60 lbs off the goals and distribute the onto us

Isn't that one of those Mars Landers
All kidding aside, looks great.
We also had too much traction. Had to change the rear wheels to "no conveyor belt" grooved cylinders. We hope it will work.

Thumbs up they work very well

Stephanie,

our grabbers work wonderfully, they only grab the center bar out of the three, but they hold up to the strain of the 180lb. goals. I think i remember that they close in a 1/4 of a second from open too fully locked. the pneumatics are a plus, our cylinders are pretty large, i think 5in. throw, .5in bore, and 2in dia., these are big!!! well, i hope this gives u some insight, thanks for asking
