Re: Belting
Do you have any more info on the belt you're looking for such as diameter (thickness) or if you've seen it used somewhere before? In the 2000 season we used a round rubber belt to pick up balls. It was red, smooth, highly flexible and about a 1/2 inch in diameter. The Fisher-Price motor had no trouble driving it around a 2 inch pulley. I don't know a name for it or the actual company that made it but I do know we purchased it through Small Parts Inc.. If I happen to run across more info I'll post another reply.

Re: Belting
Is this similar to what you are looking for?
The orange belt on the center? This is our 2000 'bot but unfortunately I can't remember what the belt was called. I was just hoping this image would show the kind of belt you were looking for and maybe Andy or someone else who used it could chime in. ![]() |

Re: Belting
224 also used that same tubing on thier 2002 robot, you could try finding someone on thier team to answer what it is. http://www.geocities.com/firstpsga/home.htm is thier website.
From what I saw those worked amazingly well on the soccer balls. I would check with mcmaster www.mcmaster.com or check with msc. edit: Quickly looking around mcmaster I found these, part #'s 6567K32, 3044K195, there are many others in the round belts section of power transmission. I'm sure someone from a team who has used these before could give you the place and part number. There is also this interesting material that is all peiced together so you can get very nice connections in any length you want, # 2243K12 Last edited by Rob Colatutto : 15-01-2004 at 20:17. |
