Go to Post Many students I have met will insist that nothing is better than FIRST robotics. And most people would agree that a ham sandwich is better than nothing. So does it logically follow that a ham sandwich is better than FIRST robotics? - tsaksa [more]

Re: Pretty Cold...

It's a healthy -20F or so windchill here in Ithaca, NY. There's only about 3 inches of snow from this week, but what is problematic are the gusting winds which blow the snow everywhere... hence why school was closed today. And with MLK Jr. Day on Monday, it's a 4 day weekend!!

-100 is a balmy day on top of Mt. Washington. Kind of like 90 mile an hour winds are just gusts. I love it up there.

Re: Pretty Cold...

Well here in CT I experienced something that I have never heard of in my entire school career: a day when it was so cold that school was canceled. No snow, just insanely low temps. But I'm not complaining about a 4-day weekend.

Re: Pretty Cold...

Brrr... I just spent over 2 hours outside doing inspections. When I went out at 9:30, it was 13 degrees (this does not include wind chill factor) and now it's 22 degrees. I've got my little heater running full blast, a cup of Earl Grey and I think I can finally feel my toes again... all's good. For those of you in colder areas... don't forget your hat and gloves... for those of you in warmer areas... phltttttt!

Heidi

does anyone else think Earl Grey tastes like Fruit Loops?

Re: Pretty Cold...

Rushing back to the dorm after class today, I was talking to a friend about the weather. She laughed at my shivers and said, "You don't know cold. Imagine if you were up in Boston or New Hampshire right now!"

"But I was in New Hampshire! It's darn cold there too!"

A week ago, I was in Key West on a cruise. Now I'm back here in Erie, PA with the wonderful lake-effect. It's not too cold at the moment (-6F) but we have a whole bunch of snow!
