Re: Help! I need Motor Stats!

How about this... the fischer price motor looks a good bit different from the 2003 one. I'm going to doubt that the motor specs are the same, so where could I find the new ones?

Thanks

Re: Help! I need Motor Stats!

i know it looks different... but i am pretty sure that the gearbox inside has not been changed... if you need the specs for the fisher price here it is...

Fisher Price Motor:

Stall Torque: .36 N-m … 3.186 lbs per square inch
Stall Current: 57 A
RPM: 15,000
Peak Power: 140 W

now it says that the rpm is 15,000... dont forget that if you take the gearbox off the fisher price has 60,000 rpm.

Arefin and all...

These are not the motor specs for the F-P motor for this year's robot. It is currently being investigated and an answer will be posted early this coming week.

If I were a betting man (which I am), I would guess these numbers:

*** ALERT - This is just a guess!! ***

free speed: 15,000 rpm
peak power: 260 Watts
Stall torque: .67 N-m

Here is some history:

2001 F-P motor: Mabuchi w/ 150 watts and 15,000 rpm free speed
2002 F-P motor: Johnson w/ 270 watts and 20,000 rpm free speed
2003 F-P motor: Mabuchi w/ 150 watts and 15,000 rpm free speed

Here are two facts for the 2004 F-P motor:
It is a Johnson.
It has a free speed of 15,000.

I am guessing that it has the same power of the 2002 motor (or similar), but wound differently so it has a lower free speed. I'm an optimist, so this guess is really a "hope".

I usually don't like posting numbers that I am not sure of, but I did want to make sure that there is much uncertainty here with this motor.

Re: Help! I need Motor Stats!

i am sorry everybody that.. the specs that i have posted may be wrong since andy has way more than experience than i do ... thanks andy for letting me know that those were not probably the right specs...

now i am getting even more confused about all these specs... does anybody have a list of motors with specs for 2004 ... (not from any other years but this one)... if you do then please post. i am sure that it will help me out a lot and will help the other teams too....
