The truth is, I was there to drop off something to an engineer on the team. I even offered to show the certain team a scouting program I've been working on using Palm Pilot technology. Lol One work.....wireless! But from what I saw, it only looked like this team was building a playing field and perhaps a side panel. I'm not that mechanically inclined. |

Re: Are you a traitor?
as a 2nd year team, yea, I am defensinve on the design, but I will give out little tips and tidbits to it, just to edge on people to inspire them to be more creative and see what they can do. I mean this year the rules are a little bit more lenient

Re: Are you a traitor?
if you end up helping another team during the design phase, there are 3 possible outcomes
1. you will play against them, and they will have an advantage over you 2. you will never be in the same match together, in which case you have helped someone out and made a friendship that will last for years 3. they will be your alliance partner in a match, in which case you have helped an alliance since only one of the 3 possible outcomes have a potential negative impact, I will bet on the 2 out of 3 odds of ending up with a positive outcome, and say, "anyone who wants to know what our team is doing, building, planning or if there is any other way we can possibly help your team - please feel more than welcome to email, phone, stop by.... bring your whole team, bring you cameras, bring your little brother if you want to! :c) |

Re: Are you a traitor?
even if they do have an advantage over you, you still get the warm fuzzy feeling of helping another team out and allowing them to succeed

Re: Are you a traitor?
Gracious professionalism?
so what if they kno what your bot does? Does it really matter? You might be paired w/ them or you might go aginst them. Or either might not happen at all. I don't c the prob only if a team is stealing signature ideas which it unethical. |
