Re: Moving MP3s to New Computer

I just moved about 100 MP3's to my new laptop with a USB portable drive (it holds 256 MB) I know they are expensive (not sure what mine was because it was a present) but it worked like a charm for me.

Well, there's plenty of online tutorials on how to make your own crossover cable... it's fun and much cheaper. Google it.

or you can do something even cheaper. you get like 3 cds together and you put all your mp3's there and copy the cds to ure hd using WMP9 (Windows Media Player 9). no money to spend at all and if you want you can use the cds in ure car system. so it all works out.

if your use an apple type system the same method should be the same

Re: Moving MP3s to New Computer

hmmm

1. burn them to a cd
2.get a HUB and hook both your computer and laptop upto it take all your music files and use winrar to tar them up.... then make sure ftp is open on your computer (might have to get a program to run... i prefer SSH ftp://ftp.ssh.org/pub/ and just move them over from one to the other via network)
3.Try to get webspace somewhere or some remote box and tar up that file using winrar and put it on the site for easy d/l

Easiest + best way i prefer to backup is via cd )))

if you dont have a burner get one!

if u dont have easy cd creator buy it (if u cant afford it RIP IT!)

)))

Re: Moving MP3s to New Computer

With 2 firewire compatible macs you can connect them with a 6pin or 9pin firewire cable and take the computer you want to transfer files from, and basically transform it into a firewire hard drive. To do this, just push the T (Target Disk Mode) on startup.
