System Requirements for Dashboard

What are the minimum system requirements for running the standard Innovation First Dashboard viewer (2004 controller)?

Re: System Requirements for Dashboard

That's a good question! I'm not sure about the new version but it is probably not much different from the old one. The old version was able to work on a 100Mhz laptop running Win95. My guess is that it can run on a similar system as there haven't been many GUI additions, only new spec additions.

Re: System Requirements for Dashboard

I installed it today on a 200? MHz machine with 64MB RAM running Windows NT 4.0. The screen needed to be in 1024x768 mode to work though. Otherwise, parts of the program would be off the screen, and there does not seem to be any way to change the window size (no resize handles, maximize button disabled).

Unfortunately there are a lot of new display items on the dashboard which require screen space. Because the display is not modifyable (as to component usage) you can not resize the window.

I asume the dashboard was written in VB6 (like the IFI_Loader). If thats true, then you will need to have (and support) 2 DLLs:
-the VB6 runtime
-The mscomm control (mscomm32.dll?)

Likely, if you already have updated versions of these, you won't even need to install! If you need them (Or have Windows ME, which might make the install spit at you), PM me with an e-mail address and I'll send you an install for a dummy-comm app. That should install the need DLLs.

The exe itself is in the cab (it's a standard cab), Extract it out of that. It should run fine. And for anyone worried about there system being too old, VB still provides support for Pentium procs with FDIV probs.
