Need Skyway Tuffwheels

My team is looking to possibly buy (or trade) some of the Skyway 12.5" Tuffwheels as found in the 2004 KOP. We cannot find them anywhere to buy as of yet, so we are wondering if there is a specific supplier that anyone knows where to find them or a team that may be willing to trade for them.

http://www.skywaytuffwheels.com/2002/products_006.htm the wheel that was supplied in the KOP is the first product displayed on that page, just in a different hub and color.

Re: Need Skyway Tuffwheels

Yeah, you can just call Skyway to order wheels. Just tell them you're a FIRST team and want the wheels the came in the FIRST kit and they'll likely know exactly what you're talking about. I know cause I called them with a technical question about the hubs and when I told the guy I had a wheel with a keyed hub he said I sounded like I was with a FIRST team.

If anyone wants to know, I asked how the hubs are held, and the aluminum has a splined surface inside the wheel. The hub is inserted into the mold and plastic is injected around it. So the spokes are likely to break before you spin the hub.

Re: Need Skyway Tuffwheels

If you check out this page
First ordering page call the 1800 number there and have an fax number ready, they will fax you an order page with special priceing for first teams, they will not discuss the priceing ect over the phone or via e-mail (so the page says) but you fill out the form with what you want and fax it back to them. They ship quickly and if memory serves the kit wheels cost $15 or so and include hub, tire, and innertube.

The 12.5" kit wheel actually costs $18.70. The 6"x1" kit wheel costs $5.45.
