Sounds kinda high

My best guess is that since it is now showing up on TV (saw it on MSNBC) people who want to donate money to a great cause and be in the spot light are funding it at this point. What a perfect way to get attention and also essentially donate money to a great cause.

With 36 days remaining, I'll say a million dollars. It's already to 85k after a little over a day. Very cool.

but are they real bids

I have to wonder if those bids are real. Anyone can create an account and bid and no one checks until the bidding is over.

Who cares? It's a segway. So it has leather. How will that help you control it? You can sit on the leather and move at the same time now can you? But about the price, it'll reach 650K. See ya.

Aren't all the parts on those titanium as well?

:goes back to reread the auction page:

That and you'll get your segway a year and a half before everyone else (at least).

Segways are completely useless. They aren't that fast and they require you to move your body. THey would be better if you could sit, but you have to stand. Anyways, Dean Kaman has lost all movement of his legs and I'm sure that you don't want that to happen to you? See Ya.

Actually.......

Actually u don't have to move your body much to drive it....like DJ said u have to drive one before you can really appreciate it....its so easier.....alot easier than sitting down....Also they are pretty fast...(again...u cant appreciate it until u ride it)

Sign up for Amazon yourself and check up on the bidders email addresses. Though at this point theyre all yahoo/hotmail-ish email addresses, for a while the high bidder was from KPCB, and others were from high-tech companies.

Oh, and it just hit 100,000.

Dude, it's not about buying a Segway, it's about donating money to the FIRST project.
