sprockets from mscdirect

We are looking for two more of each of the keyed sprockets (the 10 and 45 tooth #35 pitch) in the kit but www.mscdirect.com, or at least there representatives, say they don't know anything about FIRST or keyed sprockets. Anyone know how to get exact duplicates of the sprockets in the kit?

Re: sprockets from mscdirect

We are not using the sprockets in the kit and would be willing to trade for something we need. (namely pneumatics)

Let me know if that would work.

Re: sprockets from mscdirect

I'm not sure if these are identical to the sprockets found in the kit but we found #35 keyed sprockets at McMaster Carr:

Catalog page 920

Hope this helps.

Re: sprockets from mscdirect

Travis, i found out that all hubs above a certain ID are keyed so they do have the properly keyed gears, but we aren't using pneumatics so we'd be willing to trade, please respond as soon as possible:

Max- mcmaster carr, order by 11am on the web, and you will have them at Magnet by 4pm. why do you want the EXACT ones? They are only 20 miles from your school - and a stone's throw from my house.... it's faster however for me to order and have delivered than for me to go pick up!

Well thank you for pointing that out Brian (i still feel the need to refer to you as Mr. Holton, but i will follow Ken's lead...). I had just assembled the list of stuff i needed, i didnt check the suppliers info, and gave it to some people who were handling the purchases. They ran into problems finding it, but its been resloved (as i posted above). They didn't order them yet, so i will tell them about how close it is tomorrow.

By exact, i mean same teeth, ID, and pitch, i dont care about the manufacturer.

BTW, you have any idea how to lighten the 45 tooth ones? That huge chunk of metal they call a hub weighs a lot.
